Anyone else bugged by viewers who haven't sold?

So you didn't sell the house. You are still trying to.

If you want to get into specifics - we had an offer accepted on our house, went to view a property and had our offer accepted only for our buyer to fall through. We are no longer looking at houses until we are further down the process.

And anyway why do I have to justify my situation to you? I'm venting my feelings about my current situation and seeing if anyone else feels the same and not asking for nasty comments.

When I was an owner I only put my own property on the market after I'd found a suitable property to buy. It didn't mean I wasn't a potential buyer just because mine wasn't yet on the market. Maybe that's unusual but that's me. For me it's similar to walking into a furniture shop, I'm not there simply to look, I actually want/need some furniture otherwise I wouldn't be there. Window shopping isn't for me.
    It's someone else's fault.

That's true. It's a chicken and egg thing isn't it?

You don't have to justify yourself and I'm not being nasty. Sorry if it came across that way.

I just find it strange that the situation is bugging you considering it's excatly what you had been doing. In fact, you went further and made an offer that you weren't in a position to fulfill.

I might see the view of 'sold my house' different to others. We see it as we'd got an offer on our house which was moving forward legally so we put an offer on another. Is that not what you think? Do you see it as to have sold your house you should physically have the money in your bank account before you can go view another house? Surely that's why chains exsist.

I would say that "sold" is cash in the bank and ready to go. Your previous situation I would call "needs to sell".

This is why I hate chains and would avoid them at all costs. There are too many unknowns and too many people to potentially have problems. In a falling market like this it seems quite likely that somebody in the chain will be unable to get a mortgage or not sell for what they want and pull out. I don't need the grief.

fwiw i feel your pain! My house sale fell through last time due to chain issues.
This time only people who were under offer/sold/ftb etc etc could come view. I have a large family and couldn't face the stress of show home 24/7.
    Worked :)
    Good luck

We're off to start viewings this weekend even though we haven't sold our property (Scottish system is different). Then, when we eventually get an offer we are ready to go second view/offer on our favourites providing they are still on the market. No other way to really do it up here unless you rent after selling your own!

I didn't think the comment was nasty. Don't let selling get to you.

I'm just fed up with people viewing our house who haven't decided what town they want to live in - the feedback we always get is that the house is lovely but they've decided on a different area. We're just part of their day trip out viewing all properties vaguely suitable in a 20 mile radius.
