Daughter Didn't Get Paid updated

My daughter started a new job last month. As it is a monthly salary she has gone a whole month without pay. Today was supposed to be pay day but she has discovered that she did not get paid because someone in payroll inputted the wrong number for her bank account.
She says that no one can tell her when she might get any money. At present she has no money and is living on her overdraft. She has travelling expenses etc. I can't lend her any as the budget is tight and I was hoping for housekeeping money!
As the money seems to have gone to someone else's bank account can anyone tell me what she might expect. She has worked hard for that money. I feel bad for her. I know that you won't be able to tell me what company policy is but maybe someone might know what the general rule is in this case.

Please don't worry yourselves. I just got a text to say she would be paid next week. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I am so pleased but surely living hand to mouth like that is not desireable. Always best to have a thousand tucked away for such events. Tell her to save regularly so this kind of thing doesn't happen again in the future.0

You know I think there's a legal obligation she has to be paid on her pay day...this happened to me before and they have to write a cheque or give you cash then effectively take it off of next months wages!! Does she have any Direct Debits etc due out as if she incurs charges due to not being paid she'll have to claim them back from the company!A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."0

Thanks. I will suggest that to her. She does have direct debits I know. However, she seems happy enough. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

Since you ask the policy we operate is that if we made the mistake then we would make an additional payment, by CHAPS if necessary, to the employee whilst we wait for the original payment to be returned.
If the mistake is by the employee, for example writing the wrong bank account details of their starter form, we wait for the money to be returned before paying it back out. (We do occasionally make exceptions to the latter.)
Hopefully she will get paid next week.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -

She does intend to save but she has spent a lot on a new work wardrobe as its an office job whereas before she was in a warehouse. She is also having driving lessons and has been paying for extra because her test is coming up at the end of June. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

Thank you. It was their mistake. She has a photocopy of the form she filled out with her bank number. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
I'm glad it is getting sorted. There is nothing more stressful than not getting your first pay packet! If anything, they should have made her out a cheque, but if she is getting paid next week then that is not too bad. The same thing happened on my first job. The boss was very sorry and she said she was embarrassed because they don't normally get it wrong. They gave me a cheque the very same day and even asked if I had an expenses I needed paying like bank charges or anything. My Wins: £150 Next giftcard. Rimmel Lip Gloss, Benefit Lipstick and lipgloss. They sound like good employers. When I see her tonight I will find out what they said about it.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

In a perfect world perhaps but we live in the real world here and when a (young) person starts a new job, they don't always have a thousand pounds stashed away in case their employer makes a mistake with their pay!LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012
