i know the student finance dead-line is tuesday 31st may. if my son completes and sends off the forms online tomorrow, will they still get them on time?? a daft question i know but i want to be doubly, doubly sure. i know this should have been done a lot earlier but it's too long a story to get into.

I wouldn't worry unduly about the deadline. Just get it all done accurately as soon as possible. Don't make mistakes to get it off on time as, in practice, the deadline doesn't really mean anything. Just get it all done asap but don't panic. The deadline is arbitrary and student finance don't use it to determine anything. Obviously if everyone applies too late, no-one can get their money on time. The deadline exists to encourage applications earlier in the year mainly.

if you miss the deadline, you're much less likely to get the grant at the start of term (and also have a lot less justification for complaining if/when there are any delays!)..... i'd assume finishing them online by the deadline should be sufficient, but i would do everything to get things done by then.

just had to phone student finance because i couldn't get on website to add my income details to ds application. what a nightmare!! hopefully i should be able to within the hour &, if not, ds can still send his application form in. i can print my income form off & send via post. that way, ds doesn't miss the deadline. thanx
