My Bid Mysteriously Reaching The Max I Bid

Sadly it doesn't stop sniping software. Plenty of times I've seen last second bids.0

No doubt a sniper, or someone else bidding at the end, who bid just under what you did. It's quite common, as it only takes two people to think it's worth around the same price.
For me it's always the other way round i.e. I bid a maximum of X, and someone else wins for X + £1!
Saying that, I did get a bargain pushchair for £30.01, as someone else in the last few seconds bid £30!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

I would have bid £30.11...
I've seen a few items where several people all put similar snipes in and the difference was a few pence between winner and 3rd!0 -
If they do then the maximum bid on the OP would have dropped.
If a shill bidder makes many small incremental bids, as they often do, then retracts only the last bid which outbid the OP, then the OP's bid will still have been bid up near to his/her maximum. This is what I meant by my comment.0
