we have been on vodamoan for a while now
no 3g, no reception
would appear they only cover 5% of the uk
research voda and you will find most people have the same problem!!
i travel a lot with work etc, so its not just my area, the only network ive not had problems with or anyone i know is o2
ESPECIALLY ON IPHONE!!
i can literally have good reception one min, none the next
they have even try'd charging for all the reconnection's, and my missus phone is exactly the same!
since orange teamed up with that other bag o s@$t network they have been voted worst, voda a very close second, 3 hmm better than they used to be,
im trying to find out how to get a buy out if poss to switch to o2, as a business man, the service i have is pathetic and costing me money!!
PLEASE DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS MY MISSUS DID AND GO TO VODA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
As for battery life - I don't know of any smartphone which will last for 2 days.
The iPhone 4 has one of the best batteries on the market and with constant use e.g. constant gaming, web browsing etc you can only expect to get around 4 hours out of it. Typically after I arrive home from work it has 30-40% charge remaining after being recharged overnight.
Phones may used to have lasted 4-5 days but those days are gone unfortunately.0 -
On the note of the PAC code - Orange have to issue this within 2 hours due to OFCOM rulings and it'll remain valid for 30 days so there may be some confusion there.
3rd party retailers such as P4U or CPW have no access to your account details, they can't tell what tariff and they can't make any changes to them (thankfully). While VAT doesn't matter to the store as they'll be VAT exempt, you most likely aren't.
A lot of 3rd party stores will promise to buy out your contracts, but there's usually an uppper limit to what they'll pay and this kind of situation is extremely common. Try and work out what the contract you're taking out will cost you ex-VAT, the store will be getting quite a bit less than that in commision (not sure how much to be honest), they'll need to pay for a handset for you if you're not then they need to pay their staff so I think you'll generally be hard pushed to get much more than £150. You have no come back when it comes to the Orange contract as they've done nothing wrong, but you've been misold your Vodafone contract so you should be able to cancel that and P4U will have to take the hit.
3rd party stores tend to be problematic, but in my experience P4U are the dodgiest out of the high street stores as they really will promise you the world and fail to deliver, the only reason networks will deal with these stores is they minimise risk (you've been misold? go back to point of sale) and make them lots of money.0 -
Why not contact trading standards with this matter.
Re Vodafone reception. It's the best here in my area. Lots of major residential areas here only get Vodafone reception so I'd check out your region to see if reception is an issue.
