I know there is probably a cat in hells chance however i thought i would ask just to make sure.
I currently have a contract with T-mobile thats due until Feb2012 and I wanna cancel it. Basically as I work abroad and so 8 months of the year its pointless and so I want to go to PAYG probably with giffgaff.

Is there any way to get out of it or I just have to honour the contract I agreed to?
Thanks

Cancellation is easy, just call and ask. They'll happily cancel the contract.

Have you asked them what other options are? There may be a way to suspend it for some of the time you will not be in the UK.

What I suspect you wanted to know is can you do it without charge, and the the answer is almost certainly no. Expect to pay the line rental x months left as an early termination fee.

    gjchester,
    thanks for you post,
you got my hopes up with line one and then kindly let them down with line 3!!! ;)
i tried to talk to them about suspending it and things like that but as i come/go with very little notice it wouldnt work.

So i guess its cheaper to stay on the contract until it finishes and then either try and negociate something better than - the phone i want+PAYG or leave and then buy the phone i want and go onto gifff gaff.

    Any other ideas?

The only other option would be to find someone that would take to contract from you, use it and pay the bill.

T won't cancel for free, you've agreed to a contract and they'll hold you to it (or there'd be no point in them in the first place).

How much do you pay a month and what phone do you have, because another option may be to sell the hand set and use the money to pay off the balance of the contract then buy yourself a cheap PAYG handset.
