Help with item not as described

I did see on Parcel Monkey it would cost £5.85 plus VAT for a next day delivery service. Could I use something like this?0
-
Yes as long as they have online tracking, that probably only covers insurance up to £50 though.0
-
another interesting development...the post code on the sender section of the postage bag doesn't exist....can Paypal provide with an address to return the item to?0

Have you opened a dispute or are you doing it through the seller? If she says to return it for a refund I would query the postcode & say that it's not recognised.
With this one I would be seriously considering a paypal dispute though.0 -
Had a reply from the seller and she's not willing to do anything so I will need to open a dispute. Could someone advise me on the difference beween a paypal/ebay dispute? Which is better to open and for what reasons?
Will Paypal be able to provide me with an address to send the item back to her? From what I understood with paypal you receive a refund if you return the item? I have never opened one before and wondered if somebody with experience (maybe the very knowledgeable Soolin )
could advise how they are different/ why one is better than the other0 -
Paypal disputes are by all accounts more clearly defined time wise because of that people are advised to open through them.
Send back tracked when Paypal tell you to, once it has been delivered or an attempt has been made to deliver then you will receive your full initial cost back but probably not the extra postage the crap seller charged you as it wasn't part of the sale, although I would put in the dispute that the seller demanded more money after the auction end.
(That's the point to open a dispute, that kind of seller doesn't improve. It's always best to walk away from a sale & report the seller to ebay as a NPS when they do that)0 -
Thanks hermum,
You are fast becoming my life raft in this situation! As I don't have a valid address for her will paypal provide me with her paypal registered address to send it back to?0 -
also if I have emailed her previously should I escalate to a claim immediately in Paypal or wait for a response from her in Paypal first?0
-
I would have thought that they would give the address to send to if not, then request it through paypal, saying that the postcode given by the seller isn't recognised by RM.
I'm not sure what you mean by the second Q, I thought that she had said she wouldn't refund? If that's the case then just open it, she's been a pain since the start.0 -

Ok I've escalated the claim and just left additional info saying tried to resolve outside of Paypal yadda, yadda. Item misrepresented. Can't reach amicable solution.
I hope this sounds right.0
