Just wondered if anybody could give me an idea of how to repair an xbox 360 drawer. The wee one has pulled the drawer too far out and it won't go back in. Thanks.

my boy did that with the dog's tongue. the vet had to cut the excess off. is that an option with your xbox drawer?0

Sounds like a new drive is needed. The gearing that opens the tray has probably been torn off (dock his pocket money). About £15 for a new drive from Hong Kong or £20+ from the UK. Apparently a drive change requires the firmware to be flashed as well. £30 for a new dirve and for that job to be done too.0

Lol!!!
If it won't push back in then it's likely to have snapped something or become derailed inside. To fix it will require dismantling the Xbox, are you comfortable with doing that? Also remember that it would void any remaining warranty!0 -

If a replacement drive is needed then it's best to swap over the drive PCBs rather than flashing the drive. A flash (even with the original drive keys) can result in a ban from Xbox live.0 -
Aargh your all baffling me with science. I wouldn't be comfortable taking it to bits myself, will try and find someone local who can maybe fix it, thanks anyway.0

I'm surprised that the PCBs can be swapped between drives. Do you have to buy an identical make and model of drive to do that?0 -
You would have to swap with the same drive and flash with original firmware. I would see no reason to swap circuit boards. If you swap to a different drive, you'll likely get caught on Xbox Live as a spoofed drive. The OP would find it best to simply send back to Microsoft for repair, don't bother with anyone local.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Yes it needs to be the same - but there are only 3 models in use in the old Xbox 360s. Don't know about the new ones mind you, I haven't really looked into them.0 -
frightening.. good old microsoft. don't we all love them. filthy retards. it's about time some ethical hackers brought down the xbox live network, just to show them who's boss.0
