No, if they say 40% then that's what it is. What I was saying was that if it says 20% off plus an extra 20% off the lowest price at the till, then it works out as 36% once you have done the calculations.

    burgess hill bought by wickes!!!!

they sold the stores to B&Q, wickes and B&M then the management were loking at a buy out on the remainder. this fell apart a couple of days ago hence the rest of them looking like they will be closing completely (unless of course they can find another buyer). staff will lose their jobs unfortunately

B&Q are saying that staff can re-apply for jobs but they arent going to keep them on. wickes say they are keeping all staff on but i suspect this wont last long as traditionally wickes operate with far less staff in store than focus do

    hth

Not heard of B&M but looking at their website, look to be a crappy cheapo store, a bit like a pound shop?

I'd have thought B&Q would have to TUPE staff over... interesting

If it's Focus your talking about then yes you can exchange but they are not doing any refunds or that is what they are telling their customers,
  • Not sure if people have noticed but a lot of the closing dates have been published on the website.
I can't get access to f/b at the moment so this is quite useful to know. There are quite a few with dates TBC though.
Apologies if link has already been posted.

Do you think there will be a final push (store specific) on the last couple of days before closure?

Looks like Northampton may stand empty as there are no proposed buyers as far as I can see - shame for the staff.
