How much have/will you spend today Sun 10/12 and the new Sunday to Friday challenge!

Good morning lovely DFWs

I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday! I know it's pretty early for this thread but wanted to set up the challenge before I disappeared for the day!

This is what I posted last week:

Please, no need to congratulate me on my early start this Sunday - we have the Commander to thank He brought me toast and coffee in bed at 8am and silly me, I thought there was no alterior motive! I was up and packing by 8:30 10 days to go...
Same thing today only I was woken up at 7  and only 3 days to go :j

I did OK on the challenge last week. I was 41p over in the end and I blame the nice croissants shops :p I will aim for £25 this week because the freezer is empty due to the move and I may have to buy some lunches and bits. Now I don't actually have £25 as it's payday on Friday and I left myself with £5.75 but I hope Mr Moozie will give me a pocket allowance ;)

Now lets have some updates please and the new budgets for the week.

each Sunday you decide on an amount you want to restrict your spending to for the week through till Friday. Moozie excludes Saturdays because she likes to be a bit more easygoing for that one day of the week, so people don't feel they're constantly on the leash. Most people don't include budgeted expenses or bills per se – it's for incidental spending, like buying sandwiches for lunch or magazines, or perhaps public transport. You can include what you like though. The aim is to come in under the figure you set for yourself at the start of the week.

I know this time of year is hard for many of us so it's more important than ever to set an amount and really go for it! I love the signature tracking and I know it helps me to keep on top of the challenge so use it too if you can.

Have a great day everyone and keep it low!

I am a very naughty girl :embarasse :naughty: I spent £35 out of a £20 budget as I bought a xmas tree (£30 with discount! ..but it included decorations and lights!) and put £5 in william hill account! (haven't won anything yet!)
next week I am getting my meat from butchers and doing a lot of xmas shopping but most of that is budgeted for but I will say £50 in case I have forgotten anything.

Good Morning moozie - do you have ANYTHING left to pack?

Nice fresh morning, although the forecast is not so good for later.

I am really pleased to have kept within my spending target for the SECOND week in a row. :j :j As I posted yesterday, I intend to use the money that I saved (£3.00) to buy a half decent bottle of 'red' as a Christmas treat - is this allowed?
Anyway, Mrs. Rog2 (she would kill me if she knew I'd called her that! ) is in bed after another night shift. I have finished most of the Christmas Cards and we don't really have much planned for today. We did most of the normal shopping yesterday - shared between ALDI, ASDA and TESCO - Even my wife is getting into the MSE way of shopping - wouldn't buy the catfood in Tesco because it is on 'rollback' in ASDA and she has decided that, rather than pay £9.00 for her Christmas bottle of BAILEYS she is going to get a £4.99 equivalent, next time we are in LIDLs:A
Anyway - enough of my rambling - I need to set a slightly higher target this week, as I will be going up to Yorkshire (via Manchester of course:rolleyes: ) to discuss my possible long-term employment future. So, whilst my expenses will be covered, I will need a few quid in my pocket for 'unforeseen expenditure'.
Realistically I think that £35.00 will be an 'achievable' budget - if that's ok with you M.

    Good Morning all

I must confess to having gone over, purely down to not spending enough time and giving my spending my attention this week. So I went £11 over budget, £61 for me :(

This week I am going to aim for £40 and make sure I really do keep track of myself this time round!

Have a wonderful sunday everyone xx

  • Hopelessly over budget last week - £25.55!!

No forgotten birthdays this week (I don't think!) but out for food at Wacky Warehouse on Thursday so I would imagine I need a £20 budget this week.

Off today to buy Santa presents for my class but schoool has funded that so hopefully won't spend over that. Any ideas where I can buy decent cars for £1.50 as that is what most of my class are hoping for?

Well I stayed within budget- just! I'll budget slightly more this week as I am hoping to catch up with some school friends & I need to buy a few toiletries & stamps, so I'll say £25
Good luck everyone & have a fab sunday :j

Current spending for today... not going anywhere near shops etc and am working from 12 - 9.30pm so should be a 0p spend for me!

Hi Moozie, (dare i ask how the packing is going?!;) )

Last week i managed to stay within my budget of £20, spending a total of £19.55:T This seems to be an acceptable amount for me - it covers what i usually need without leaving myself desparately short- if i allowed myself anymore i might be tempted to waste it on stuff i want but dont NEED! Getting the balance right is the key so it will be £20 for me again next week because that seems to work for me!

The change went into the mortgage pig which prompted me to have a little count up - i have another £47 to pay in next week. (thanks mostly to mr nomoney!:lovethoug )

Good luck to everyone else for the week ahead:D
