O.S. Sunday 10/12

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 10/12/06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone
feel a bit rough today I've caught the kid's cold
not much is happening today got the whole house clean from top to bottom so it's just a quick swish round today
got to get the bm on for rolls and a fruit loaf for tomorow
need to make cake not sure what to do though
just a little bit of awashing and drying to do and then it's the mountain of ironing to get through but ds1 will help with this

'Morning Mrs Mix and to everyone else who follows :hello:

Butter making (for the freezer) and baking today. Going to do a quick tidy round as well (that's if I ever get away from MSE :rotfl:)

Had the duck breast we were given for dinner last night. It was absolutely delicious. I made a sauce with HM Plum and ginger jam, HM cranberry wine, red onions, garlic and ginger. Served it with green beans and mashed potatoes :D Thanks to everyone's posts on cooking duck, I felt confident engough to be a bit creative with what we had in the house rather than dashing out to get some special ingredients.

Have a lovely OS day everyone

:hello: Goooood Morning Pam and fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

Hope you feel better soon, Pam ((hugs))

The merry-go-round is still in full swing in Queenieland and I still haven't found a moment to stop it and get off, despite many attempts

Today will be a contest between Christmas sewing and preparing a presentation.

The lads want to decorate their bedrooms with any left over tinsel and they've bought themselves some fairy lights from Asda (20% on all Christmas decs right now).

D12yo match has been cancelled (that's 2 in a row!) but that is a good thing really because it takes such a chunk out of the day and there is just so much to be done.

Wishing you all a super Sunday and ((hugs)) for those who need/want them. :D:D:D

    Morning apple :D:D:D

    Morning

just a quickie - got to get back to it.

Tree up yesterday - looking good.

Fairy knitted - was supposed to go on the tree but DD seems to have claimed her. Hmm hope she's robust enough to withstand the "cuggols"

DS up far too early this morning and is running round downstairs as we speak. It's just me and him so far.

Took him to see "Happy Feet" yesterday. I think he enjoyed it (apart from the scary bits), I was a bit disappointed. An ok kids film, but not worth all the hype IMO.

MIL's birthday today so we have to got there this afternoon.

Broccoli soup and parmesan toast for lunch
Pea and ham risotto for dinner

    take care everyone

  • Morning all,
Up early for a Sunday today as OH is taking sons to a judo competition in Walsall. Am about to make them packed lunches - hm rolls with bacon and egg filling, apricot and choc chip muffins and apples- should keep them going.

Must also haul the SC out from it's cupboard as I'm doing pot-roast beef for tea. I've got a piece of topside which tends to dryness if you roast it. It's perfect for the SC though. Will serve it with baked spuds and veg, and hopefully again tomorrow with coleslaw, maybe shredded with a BBQ sauce ? I'll have to dig out my American cookbooks ;)

Still really cross on Moggins' behalf  Told my OH and he was gobsmacked that anyone could behave like that. So:grouphug: to you Mogs.
  • Morning Guys!

The guy is hopefully coming to help cut in the sink and hob as it still hasnt been done...fingers x'd for me.

    Breakie: Toast/Jam
Lunch: Baked Spud, Ham and salad
    Dinner: Roast Lamb

    Hugs to all

    Hello everybody,

Well I could tell you all the things I wanted to do today but didn't get done. Have to cram them into tonight's schedule now. :D Been pretty warm today. YS rang and can't make it home this Xmas. He's working through until the New Year. Hopefully he will be able to come down sometime in January to visit before we fly off.

I made Microwave Flapjack today and it's all gone. I was hoping to take some in with us when I pack our lunches tomorrow. Looks like we'll be having vegemite on crackers now. Have a happy sunday to everyone. Byeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning Chums ,
just peeked out of the window ,frosty car windscreen, so it's warm coat for me today.Youngest DD is coming this morning and we are going to the local Shopping centre to get the children their stocking bits. Will also be getting turkey crowns for both of my daughters to put in their freezers.Saves all that queing up in a fortnights time. Had dinner at DD last night and we christened her new dining room, as her extention is FINISHED at long last .The children were so pleased as they have virtually being eating their meals from their laps for the last 9 weeks whilst the builders were in.
I only have one birthday present to buy for DD as all of my Christmas presents are wrapped.Tomorrow I shall concentrate on the cards as I have had lots in and not yet sent one out. I have broken up from college and am off now until 9th January. Yippee no homework ,I can catch up on some story-writing for a change.
Went on a Ghost walk last week around the Commisioners House in Chatham Dockyard ,very spooky it was as well, but good fun ,especially the glass of mulled wine before we set off. Well time I got a wriggle on and had some breakfast ,Mmm I think as it's very cold here I shall have a big bowl of porridge to warm my innerds up , hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those in need .
  • Morning all :santa2:

Got the tree and all the decs up. Living room looks lovely and very festive. Had a rubbish night's sleep as my neighbours were really noisy last night. So, no lie-in for me today (nor for them. Couldn't resist playing a cd at maybe too high a volume at 7 this morning). Petty, I know, but this is becoming a regular occurence with them and I keep asking them to keep the noise down. Hopefully a taste of their own medicine will make the difference.

Todays plans are to iron the uniforms for tomorrow and get some meals cooked for the freezer. Not much room in the freezer as I bought a fresh turkey crown yesterday and it is taking up quite a bit of room. Bathroom needs a good going over too.

(((hugs))) to Moggins Woke up thinking about you this morning. I hope OH has apologised to you.

Have a great Sunday everyone. X
