I'm not sure about this, so thought I would ask you experts .
My car is a 5-door hatch. One of the rear passenger doors can't be opened from the outside, but can from the inside. The other rear passenger door is fine. Would this be an MOT fail?

Maybe my MOT guy is too strict, He would fail as he cannot check the security of the rear seatbelts and mountings.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Not a fail

That link was a fail, it's in section 6 of the inspection manual for class 3,4,5 and 70 -

that was my initial concern - but then I thought, he can check the rear seatbelts/mountings etc by getting in the back of the car by the other rear passenger door. And if it was a 3-door car, he'd have to check the rear seatbelts/mountings by going in one of the front doors wouldn't he?0 -
It's not technically an MOT fail (though how safe do your passengers feel) but the tester can fail it for being unable to check testable items.0

Take the trim off, find out which bit of the linkage or clip fell off / broke...:DC.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down. Take it in with the back window wound down, and he can put his arm in and open it from the inside.0 -

but the fact of the matter is, he can check the testable items by opening the door from the inside, it is only a fail if the front doors cant be opened and closed securely.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
Well done paddedjohn for finding a tester who will do anything extra. Mine would simply fail it (contrary to popular belief MOT testers are much more thorough with regular traders cars).0
