    Or THIS one.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Below (in graphic form) is a table listing changes for Telewest Customers.

This was scanned in from their notification letter and leaflet.

The new prices will effect NTL customers as well but the existing prices for TW may not be the same as NTL customers.

    Telephone Changes

    TV - Starter Changes
    TV - Essential Changes
    TV - Supreme Changes

TV - Supreme (Non-Telephone Customers only) Changes

For those unlucky to have their telephone with NTL/TW then their all-inclusive plan is being reduced by 50p to £14 (not including linerental). Compare that to the options available for those lucky enough to have a BT landline (see here) such as £7.25 from Euphony or £5 from Sky (you need to be a Sky customer though).

I strongly recommend those that have their telephone with NTL/TW is to move to BT and take advantage of the many, many other cheaper providers (even BT are cheaper than NTL/TW).
  • I couldn't agree with you more....
the bundle for £30 is very attractive , yet they overcharge for all services....
4Mb broadband becomes £25 after the first 12 months.
I too am in the process of moving to BT.

I believe the 3 for £30 and their free TV (which includes Sky One) are subsidised by increases in other areas and that is their telephone charges.

It's the only thing that makes sense as why else would they keep their prices significantly higher than BT?

We all know BT aren't cheap as there are cheaper suppliers out there but why continue to remain about £4 odd more expensive than BT on their Talk Unlimited (anytime all-inclusive geographical calls).
