Tethering on 3

I've asked the Customer Service rep a couple of times but haven't got a clear answer so wondered what other user's experiences were:

I'm going to take out a £10/month 12 month contract giving me 1GB per month allowance. The CS rep told me that it is technically possible to tether on that contract but I will be charged 10.2p/MB
What she didn't say is whether that charge would only come into play once the 1GB allowance had been used up.
Since the tethering add-on is called Add Broadband Lite and costs £10 per 1GB, that is no different to simply paying the 10.2p/MB charge in the first place.

Can anybody confirm if you can use the standard 1GB allowance from the contract to tether without being charged please?

(my usage is very low so I realise how useful 1GB will be)

I tether to my iPhone on 3, and there are no additional charges, it comes out of my standard internet part of my deal.

Possibly that is true if you are on the "one" plan, but not on the £10 12 month contract.

The plan details http://threestore.three.co.uk/plandetails.aspx?tariffid=2305 clearly says

Internet allowance is not for use as a modem.

If they detect it you will be charged at 10p a meg.

I think you have your sums incorrect.

paying 10.2p per mb would cost £106 per gb ;) you dont want to be doing that :rotfl:

    10.2p/mb is £104 a gb, not £10..
