My new LCD tv i just noticed when i switch my digital box off on the black background of the tv there is 2 white blobs on the right and left hand side of the screen ...is this normal as now i look for it i can see it on dark scenes on tv programs...its nothing major but just wanted to know if its normal?
Is this dead pixels , what do dead pixels look like?

Describe the blobs in more detail. How big, where exactly on the screen etc.0 -
Like white smudge shadows only on black background ..... there are about 4 inches long on either side ......when i turn the digital box off i can see it more clearly but when tv is on i hardly notice it much on if the scene is really dark0

Is this not what is known as the light leakage (or seepage) or something similar that is associated with the cheaper LCD panels??? Samsung's are usually good when it comes to minimising this and I would strongly consider a refund or replacement as it could well be faulty.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0
