Today I got a response from Barclaycard:
Thank you for your recent letter.
Unfortunately, unless you are able to provide documentary evidence to support a refund in the event of a change of mind or cancellation, Barclaycard are unable to assist in the recovery of your payment.
Our earlier letter informed you that we suspended the amount of the transaction from the interest calculation amd the minimum payement. I have today removed the suspension from your account.
I sent them the invoices which state that unless a ticket is issued then a booking is not valid and an email from the company stating that they had refunded the amount and to let them know when I got the money back.
I called the bank and they said they will look into it maybe they did not see the email and to call back on Thursday.
I called the FT tours' accounts department and the guy in accounts said he would call me back in 15 minutes and that was nearly an hour ago. What do I do? I need your help to solve this in the least stressful way.0 -
I guess what Barclaycard are saying, is that they need proof that what you booked wasn't a non-refundable fare and that you have not simply changed your mind and expect them to refund you.
As you have said, no ticket was issued. I would call them and explain that you paid the agent for a ticket that was never issued, therefore goods were not provided. The agent acknowledge that the ticket was never issued, and have stated they will refund you, but this has not happened. Therefore, you are left with the money gone, and no goods.
Trouble is, its the weekend and I doubt anyone relevant from Barclaycard will be in until Monday. You could wait to see what the agent says, but I doubt any refund is going to magically materialise now, after it has failed to, and they have tried to get you to lie to your credit card provider about the amount (by the way, did you inform Barclaycard of this).0 -
Thank you, I can see what you are saying but when I got that letter this morning I saw red.
After posting I drove to the agent's premises. Much to my surprise he had the receipt of the refund next to the one of the sale. It shows it was accepted on Monday the 23rd and all card details are correct. He has given me a copy.
Why then are Barclaycard making me jump through hoops for money that they have been refunded??? I am just about to sit down and put pen to paper to Barclaycard.0 -

The previous registered address for the company FT Tours Limited was the Upton Lane address - now 6 Windmill Street, Camden address...changed in April according to Companies House...website registrant is the same name as a company director whose appointment was terminated earlier this month...so it does look like it is the same company.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hey Guys,
After 5 long weeks Barclaycard have agreed to do a charge back. I am not sure why if the money was refunded but they tell me just because there is a receipt does not mean the money was actually refunded but it provides the proof that an agreement existed to refund.
For now I get temporary credit for the amount and they ask the merchant to refund. After a maximum period of 45 days wether or not the money is refunded, I get the credit back permanently.
I don't get it and I am not going to try to, I am just glad that I don't have to pay this money!!
Thank you all for your support.:D0
