I am on broadband and my Firewall cover (Black Ice) has come to an end.
With SP2 Firewall do I require a further shield and if so what would you recommend.

I recommend Norton Internet Security or Norton Firewall (comes without anti virus) You don't then need sp2 firewall. It isn't advisable to run two software firewall together, and Norton is far more configurable to allow access to applications.

download Zone alarm or Tiny personal firewall - both free£2 savers club = £83.500

SP2 Firewall - them words shouldnt be said together, if anyone is running the standard M$ firewall and thinking there pc is safe i really advise u too run a online security scan as the m$ firewall falls short of the standard rules of protection it allows any application to send outbound packets, do a search on google and u will see reports/reviews on the m$ firewall,.
like urbanite said Tiny is a good firewall might be confusing for some users
if anyone is going to pay for a firewall i would say McAfee Personal Firewall is the one to get,. i gave up on Nortons years back takes up too much cpu usage and it even didnt pick up 4 virus that mcafee AV did and AVG which is free ware0 -
I'd vote for Zonealarm as well, make sure when you are installing it that you chose the basic firewall when it gives you the chioce of that or Pro...the pro version expires after 30 days...Ex forum ambassador

Sygate Firewall is still free for home and personal use; I find it less intrusive and easier to live with than Norton firewall. Download it free from hereAs tight as two coats of paint0

Indeedydo sirs....
Sygate personal firewall is what i use, and i hardly know it's there...but, woe betide any app that tries it on, it flags straihgt away, also flags when files have been changed and then try and broadcast, even if you've allowed them before, such as if a M$ update changes say, IE.exe or the like!Talon "Ace" Karrde
