To all the Lawyers on here

I hope you are all duely ashamed by the actions of one of your colleagues in bringing this to court.

Disgusting, what next murderers sentence to comunity service so they can have the right to a family life.

Perhaps he should have thought of his family before he burgled someones house.

And to think this case is wasting taxpayers money as well.

Why would they be ashamed? I'm a shop manager, does that mean I should be ashamed because of the actions of another shop manager I have absolutely no connection to whatsoever just because we share a profession?

What a ridiculous thing to say.

Everyone has the right to legal counsel, no matter who they are or what they've done. I can't really see how anyone can disagree with that right in a free and fair society.

Just added a word to reflect the ethos of "innocent until proven guilty" in our society ;)

Having read it...Human Rights are a whole different ballgame and everyone, irrespective of the crime they have committed is entitled to have their human rights upheld. (I don't like it, but its only fair)

If you believe that any lawyer should ever be ashamed that he has taken a case then you have a severe and dangerous misunderstanding one of the basic principles of English law.

Mr Wise is asking the court for an interpretation of the law. What do you think the role of a 'lawyer' is? Do you think lawyers should cherry pick their cases?

This the part of the ECHR that is being referred to:

Article 8 – Right to respect for private and family life
    1. Everyone has the right to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence.
    2. There shall be no interference by a public authority with the exercise of this right except such as is in accordance with the law and is necessary in a democratic society in the interests of national security, public safety or the economic well-being of the country, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.

It should never have the time of day in court. As he's criminal scum, he should have his kids taken off him rather than let out of jail to "care" for them. This lawyer will be funded by taxpayers in this action to free this criminal for this ridiculous reason, so it's strange so many are happy for this to be happening.
