thanks kwatt I will pass all this to hubby tonight. Hopefully he will manage to find out what's wrong and fix it.

Our last oven was a smeg and it went, he managed to replace the element in that OK. If I recall, the fan was working but oven niot heating up.

I just don't want an expensive visit from an electrician, then an expensive repair bill! Would rather buy new.

another thing...not sure is it's significant....it was tripping the electric in the flat when we plugged it in, but isn't any more.

It sounds like if it was tripping the meter the power was getting through to a faulty oven, but now it's burnt out in the oven so the meter doesn't trip. That seems to me to point to a smallish fault in the ovens wiring , only problem then is to trace it. When you get the oven out maybe you'll see electrical burn marks on the back.

Hi thanks for all your replies!

The plug and cable have been checked.

The grill and oven were working before it conked out.

Kwatt thanks for your link. The model number is ESF461 ST/ST
The timer on it is just a knob that gets turned and it is in 15 minute markers up to 105 minutes, does that mean it's nothing to do with that?

Odd socks I am going to pass info to hubby tonight because I imagine it would be squashed being pushed in and out of space.

Couldn't have come at a worse time, we are going through bankruptcy, so finances not great

    No problem :)

I agree with kwatt, could be the power block,If the wire is good and the wall socket is working and the fuse is ok

Best place to start looking first is the power block

    Good luck :)
