As I see it the banks want to push the blame for any fraudulent activity onto their customers.

Here is a completely hypothetical mechanism whereby they can do that...

Push some godawful security software which anybody with half a brain will realise is more trouble than it is worth.

Customer tries then rejects said rubbish software.

Customer later gets hacked/phished/ or more likley has their details leaked because of security failings by some useless corporate enitity who has stored them and some dosh goes AWOL.

Bank refuses to reimburse customer because they were not using the recommended (but pretty much useless anyway) security software.

Not that I'd ever insinuate such underhand behaviour would be contemplated by the thoroughly trustworthy bankers.

Try Revo Uninstaller, was just about the only way to get this parasite off years ago.

Excellent product, it not only kills the ' mother bird ' but is one of the few products that has the capacity to safely find and kill the ' sleepers ' left hiding in obscure parts of the registry.

Does it work with AOL? The only really safe way that used to exist for that was nuking the box from orbit.
