Does anybody know of a cheap way to travel to germany, one way only.
Leaving from Newcastle upon Tyne
Destination : Munich
I am buying a car there, so need to use public transport.
Have been considereing a few options including ..
direct flights, but none from Newcastle and all seem expensive
travel to Dover, ship to France / Belgium, then train to Germany
ship from Newcastle to Amsterdam, then train to Germany
fly to Amsterdam from Newcastle, then train, but flight is £399 (wow !!)
Any suggestions would be helpful
Are trains between France / Netherlands reliable and how would I book from here ?
Many thanks in advance

Thank you for your quick reply.
I just picked Munich as a destination, as I hav not picked the vehicle yet, still weighing up the pros and cons ... but that route seems very good. Also, there are direct flights to Hamburg too.
Do you know how I could book internal train journeys in Germany ?
I might go with my wife, so the DFDS ship route maye good too .. the price for a cabin is the same whether one or two passengers are travelling0 -
EasyJet and Ryanair also fly directly to Germany from Edinburgh airport. You can fly directly from Newcastle to Dusseldorf with Lufthansa and Hannover with Flybe. You can book German train tickets via https://www.bahn.de0
