clarity Credit Card question

I have one of these cards and was wondering is this the best way of spending when in Spain. I also have a Nationwide debit card.

I understand that the clarity card is free for all withdraws and payments when abroad.

However do you pay interest on purchases with the card or is it only on the withdraws.

I can afford to repay my spending in full once i get back to the UK.

would the clarity card therefore be the best option.

Of the two cards that you mention, yes.

The Clarity Card means that you will pay interest on cash withdrawals from the transaction date until fully cleared. Purchases only attract interest from your usual payment date.

The Nationwide Card would cost 2% plus £1 for each ATM transaction.

The way to make the most advantage of the Clarity card is make an on-line payment a couple of days before you use it for cash withdrawals so that they are paid off almost immediately, thus minimising any interest. Don't do it too far ahead as you are not allowed to put the account into credit and you risk having any payment returned.

thats helpful so with online banking i could arrange a payment on the day before i fly out which will take a few days to clear so by the time i arrive at destination and withdraw currency the payment should clear a day afterwards.
