Can anyone help me with a question? Some great prices, and on first class too. I want to travel with a 3 year old and a 11 year old, but returning with just the 3 year old. I obviously need to book 2 singles instead of 2 returns, but would like to know can I travel first class with a 3 year old? Under 5s are normally free on trains I think, and there is only an option for booking child (5-15), so if I book 1 adult 1 child would my 3 year old still be allowed in first class with us as there is no assigned seat for him? Please God, help me stop spending!0

Im still getting error messages grr.
Can someone tell me if I doing it wrong I am searching random dates for journeys from three bridges/gatwick to brighton or london.
Is there a easier way just to bring up the 90% discount rates or just keep searching?
I would love any advice thanks0 -
The frequent deals are great. The website is not - have also previously wasted hours of my time trying to make my booking work. If you chose to have the tickets posted to you, DO NOT assume they are correct when they arrive - do check them - I just glanced at them but found the errors out on the day - which then became costly.0

It may be that a lot of the cheaper fares are gone as checking a couple of Saturdays the 45p fare box was there but no availability left. I found a cheap fare for Sunday 7 August i.e. 90p return, copied and pasted below.hayhay2010 wrote: »Im still getting error messages grr.

Have you tried different times ie avoid rush hour periods and from other london stations, ie someone very helpfully posted about South Croydon and there are also some cheap tickets are from East Croydon and then you could travel onto London Victoria on a separate ticket which wouldn't be that expensive, if that is easy to get to, there seems a lot more options for cheap tickets if you vary the London station - I've got an Croydon-Eastbourne return for £1.15 in August
I'm loving this offer, have booked 7 day trips from London to the South Coast all for around £1 each return

I just picked a random date of 15 Aug, there is an Eastbourne to London Vic at 09:29 and return from London Vic at 1917, both legs are at 45p each for 1 person travelling and when I selected a group there is still availability. There is availability the other way round too, not sure which way you are starting?!0

In terms of intermediary stations, it seems there are cheap tickets from Clapham Junction to Brighton, but not East Croydon. I have one 90p single that says change at East Croydon, what would happen if I got on at East Croydon rather than change?Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

There's also cheap tickets via South Croydon to Brighton which is easy enough to walk from East Croydon area if that's any good for you? - I'm going via South Croydon it does say travel point to point I believe, bit annoying as the routing is South Croydon change at East Croydon onto Brighton! Not sure I will risk using just East though.. they may have more inspectors out to catch people with this offer going on?0 -
Have been online for three hours and despite finding three deals everytime I try to reserve it crashes and I have to start again... strangely enough when I get back to the mixing deck the tickets have gone !!!
email sent to Southern CS as not happy anymore !
SORT IT OUT SOUTHERN !!!0
