Read your owners manual, check usual fluids, water, brake & clutch, screen wash.
If the water level for the radiator is low, it's possible thats where the water is coming from. If not...
Take out the mats and carpets from the front footwells...
dry the floor as much as possible, dust lightly with talcum powder.
Check up the sides and bulkhead for signs of water running down.
ETA I'm 5' 2" and I'm over 50yrs old, get a step up, milk crate upside down,
be MSE.
Your right need to think MSE!!, will go thru the manual at the weekend. Funny thing carpets are not wet, shown no sigh of water at all!. The water seems to be coming from the top dripping down maybe.......
Thanks for all the advice everyone! xNo one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
Ok so with the downpours had a veritable swimming pool in the drivers side
.
So cleaned where the water from the windscreen should go down to the floor, lo & behold when the windscreen was replaced the hole where the water should have drained down had not been pierced so it was not draining.
That's all i can think of that might have been the problem.....hope this solves the issue, if not then will have to look under the car :eek:No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
Well, at least you looked and you now know that bit.
Just the rest of it then...:D

Mate i wish that was the case lol
But i did call the insurance co, they felt that it sounds like a windscreen prob, they are going to get it replaced next week. As it was not so hot today the carpet was still wet, put newspaper under the rubber mat & hopefully will soak up over night. Found out my stupid warranty has run out as well so no help there......will see how it goes.
Thanks all xxNo one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
Just because the warrenty is out doesn't mean all is lost...

If you take the mat out the carpet will dry quicker.0 -
Just to say it was the badly fitted windscreen that caused the leak (national windscreens!!) it has been replaced but the saga continues......
Will update when all is resolved, thanks for all your help & advice. No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
if you've got a sun roof there'll probably be drainage points for that as well.0
