Android security flaw
I need a new phone and fancy a San Francisco. Just stumbled upon this, whilst reading info. about it, which states:
Thought it'd be posted here already but a quick search didn't bring it up, so thought Android users might like to know.
:eek:A significant security hole has been discovered in Google’s Android operating system for smartphones that can allow attackers to gain access to users’ personal information without their permission. The flaw, which was discovered by three research assistants at Ulm University in the southern part of Germany, affects approximately 97 percent of Android users.

Be interesting to see how fast it's fixed.
With all the fuss over the Apple tracking your loction, that was fixed in days, and generally Apple get security updates out quick, Android is more splintered with many makers being less than speedy in fixes for phones on the market.
And this is not meant to be an Apple Vs Android post, just an observation that the control Aple hold is usefull sometimes.0 -
Google is rolling out a fix...it fixes server authentication (should be relatively easy for google to fix)
