I've never sold at a penny...
Then with popular authors where there are hundreds of copies you would not be able to sell these books at all on Amazon.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Having tried it, I wouldn't bother again.
What I can tell you though, having loads of 'masculine' (apologies for discrimination) type books, bought new, and read once, they just don't sell.
From what I can see, it's the women who do the most reading, and the female type books are more popular, but still hardly worth the effort.0 -
I was at an auction last week, one lady paid £1 for 6 big boxes of books as she was the only one interested in them. The other 12 boxes in the sale are either still sitting there or have gone for recycling!0

Can also depend where you are in the country. At my local boot fairs which are located near holiday resorts there's quite a few sales to holiday makers and caravan owners.0

20p for a paperback is my limit - amidst the people asking £ridiculous there's always someone with them at 20p.0

Just thought I'd update this. Did the car boot today, made £210.95 profit, that was what was left after float and table cost were taken off.
My books sold like hot cakes at 50p each for the paperbacks and when things slowed down a little, we put them out at 3 for £1. One man bought 90 of them.
I nearly didn't take them after you lot put me off by saying they don't really sell well. I'm glad I ignored you.

Wow that's some takings at a car boot sale. Well done you. Think maybe I ought to try car booting.
Did you have any high priced items or were most things under £1 each?0
