How much for popular authors at a car boot?

Likes of Patricia Cornwell/John Grisham/James Patterson/Dean Koontz/Steven King etc etc.
Would it make any difference if I made them into 'sets' e.g 6 Dean Koontz tied together...or just leave them singular?
Both paperback and hardback? V. good cond.
Not much I expect but I don't want to do myself.

Leave them single ~ people might just be looking for 1 or 2 titles and not want to buy a bundle.
I doubt you'd get more than a quid each though I'm afraid!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
To be honest unless you've got a lot of room I wouldn't bother as at th eboots I go to you'd be lucky to get 10p each assuming they sold at all.
The book market even at car boots is really really slowI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't like paying more than 50p for a paperback, £1 for a hardback. As long as all the pages are there and legible, condition doesn't matter too much.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

put the on amazon market place for a half decent return0

20p to 50p seem to be the average prices around the County Durham/North Yorkshire area. As others have said selling books at car boots is very hard work!0

I wouldn't pay more than 50p for a book at a car book if it was just a story book. I might pay more for something I desperately wanted to read and it was in good condition. And I look for text books (am a budding teacher) which I'll pay more for as they're very expensive new.0

I had 2 boxes of books(about 30 books), all the authors you have mentioned. I priced them up at 20p per book. In the 6 hours I was selling guess how many I sold?

Popular authors like that are 1p novels and as such would make a loss for any small seller .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm really surprised that books are not more of a seller, I wonder if this is the case across the board. Maybe us Scottish lot read more
and my books will just fly off the table. < Positive thinking. :rotfl: Herman - MP for all!

I'm only really willing to pay 50p to a £1 for a book at a carboot, and that's usually for relatively new and popular authors. If they're priced up more than that I just walk away as there are usually plenty of other people selling at 50p per book. You could look at selling on amazon marketplace, but to be honest I've never had much luck with selling books on there, and after paying for postage and packaging and amazon fees you're not going to be making that much, especially on the really popular books which are priced up by others at 1p.Mortgage-free wannabe 2026 £1130/40000
