My son is 18 and is going to be leaving school next month, if he cant get a job can he claim jsa?

If you (or anyone else) is receiving child benefit for him he won't be able to claim JSA until September.0

another prat. Years ago in our local paper there was a full page of jobs now there are about 3 jobs all the factories have closed because it is an hosiery area and all the shop jos are taken by adults
So there are shops now - have they built them in the past ten minutes, since you said there were not?

I am sure there are industries your son could get into, it's just the luck of the draw really all i can say is keep him motivated to his search for work. How far is he prepared to travel? possibly the next town? Kids have the same here where i live where the traditional industries have either relocated to china or gone altogether.0
