Enuite in smallish bedroom?

What I don't get is ensuites being added when the space is already tight. I don't meant to attack OP but where does this obsession with ensuites come from?0 -

No i dont get them either. Call me traditional if you like but whats wrong with walking a couple of feet out into the purpose built bathroom?
The perfect situation of course would be if the bathroom were adjacent to the main bedroom and you simply created a doorway by cutting a hole in the wall ,thus having a kind of walk through bathroom. No no,the whole en suite malarky is naff.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Basically we need another shitter as we have so many kids, and there's nowhere practical downstairs to have a second wc.0

Surely you have enough "shitters" - its receptacles to catch their output that you are short of!
On the basis of what you're saying - why not slice off 80cm across the room where you show the wardrobe on your diagram - toilet to the left with external fall to a point on the soil pipe or a new external soil pipe, and shower on the right. Fitted wardrobes down the right hand side with the last part near the door say an angled shelf unit to ease access round the door. You could then continue this round and over the bed if you choose. The wardrobes you can play with - the only practical location for an ensuite is where that wardrobe is on your diagram.Adventure before Dementia!0 -

Exactly what you said. That's the sort of thing that I was getting at with the layout of it, and you've put the loo exactly where it needs to be as well. The toilet needs to be by the soil stack.
OP, this is absolutely the right advice.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I've just built an en-suite in what was the old larder/coal house. Its around 2.6m x0.8m and has a shower, toilet and small basin. Its about as small as I think you can make it whilst still remaining perfectly usable.
something this shape might fit in your room better as you current design appears to leave some dead space above the ensuite between the door. Making it the shape you have shown would make the room seem much small IMHO.I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling
