British Work Ethic Condemned

I've done the working 70 hour weeks thing for several months of last year at my old employer.
I did it the first 15 years of my career.
Worked for me.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Learnt from experience, !!!!!d myself out and got fcuk all out of it made more money out of contracting and prostituting myself for the highest bidder, if they don't pay I don't work.
How are you doing?
As you, work for myself.
Will do whatever is needed to keep a good client though.0 -
Blame in on the parents and the benefit system as most people in other countries are worried about being able to eat and not pour booze down their gullets.0 -

Each to their own. If I was to work 70 hours a week for 15 years I'd want to have enough money to retire at the end of it, otherwise I'd feel it was too much of a sacrifice for too little reward. I'm happy with my current balance of reasonably above average success, and reasonably above average work ethic/hours worked.0 -
It's just another stereotypical tarring. Anywhere you go in the world, there will be hardworking people and lazy people. I'm from Asia and there are clock watchers there too.
You need to find a good balance. I'm lucky to work in a place where I can be flexible about my working hours but it does mean that I work when I need to.0 -
