Previous Year Transfer to ISA account

Hi All,

Apologies if these are very dumb questions but I've never transfered previous years before to a new account.

If I open a new isa this year that is fixed for 4 or 5years, do previous isa's have to be transfered at time of opening or can I transfer later in year when it matures? Does the full allowance have to be deposited at time of opening too? Or are some accounts allowing additional deposits after opening?

Most fixed term ISAs only allow one deposit, so you wouldn't be able to add new money at a later date, or transfer previous ISAs. So if this were the case and you didn't use the whole allowance in the first deposit you would lose out the rest of the allowance.

Depends on the T&Cs of the account.
