what can i do?
about 10 yrs ago i purchased a self pollinating patio pear tree and apple tree.
so far the pear tree has not produced any fruit let alone flowers/blossoms. the apple tree produces a great spectacle of flowers/blossoms but has not produces any apples.

i have contacted the company that sold them every year but get no reply from them.

Sounds like they were not really self pollinators. I guess you will have to plant trees that flower at the same time of a different strain. Then wait 3 years at least.

My mil gave me a Blackmoor stella cherry for my birthday last year, one of those 1 stem in a pot things.
Loads of blossom in the spring and just 7 cherries on it!
I did contact Blackmoor a few weeks ago and they said it is self fertile but you get a much better crop if there are 2 of them.
She paid £27 for it so I'm not buying it a friend.

Do you know what varieties they are?

Characteristics of Doyenne du Comice Trees:
    • Self Sterile.

For pollination to occur, another apple, including another Gala or crabapple tree that blooms at the same time, must be nearby.

obviously NOT, which has been my argument with the supplier every years since yr 3 (as fruit will not show until yr 3), which they have not bothered to reply.

Buy another apple and pear from somewhere else then.

I have a Blackmoor supplied Sunburst self fertile cherry, bought autumn 2009, bare rooted & planted in open ground

2010 I had 1 cherry, this year I have loads to look forward to

I suspect weather & bees make a big difference as cherry blossom is quite early

AFAIK there are no cherries, not even ornamental, around here, so self fertile seems to be true for Sunburst at least
