ebay over christmas do you buy or sell at this time ?

las year over christmas i did not list anything until after the new year.... but me being me i used to have a nose on ebay to see what was finishing on christmas day( yes i know...i'm sad...going on to ebay on chrsitmas day to have a nose )..
but there were things finishing and having bids .....so i was thinking should i still list a few things that finish between christmas and new year

as there is 2 ways of looking at it... first of all......no one will be looking or buying over christmas....

the second..... as there is hardly anything listed over that time......have you got more chance of selling it ? as maybe peeps have had money for christmas.... or had a new computer and want to check out ebay ?

has anyone listed things to end between christmas and new year in the past ? what was the out come good or bad ?

and am i the only sad person to bee looking and buying on ebay on christmas day

I look for any bargains to be had on christmas day/boxing day when people may be busy with the family festivites and not being able to bid....
but the days following that are usually busy as a lot of people will have taken the time off work, and spend more time sitting at their computers.

The run up to xmas is a bad time to buy.. more people buying so prices are up.

But Xmas day and boxing day are brilliant for bargains!!
  • thanks peeps..... my hubby thought i was sad.... going onto ebay and buying on christmas day .....

so do you think its worth carrying on listing things.... to finish over christmas ? .....as at the end of the day i start my prices at the min... mount i want for them anyway, and if they only get one bid...then thats fine....

as to be hones i cant afford to have a drop in sales at the mo.....becuase of the dreaded tax credit peeps cutting my money without telling me, so now maxed out on overdraft.......

The only thing to remember about selling over Christmas is that cheque clearing, even for funds available can take ages due to the fact there are two bank holidays (3 in Scotland) in just over a week.

You do have to smile though at the optimism of some buyers, in previous years I have sold BIN items right up to and including Christmas Eve itself and have been asked to make sure the stuff arrives for Christmas!
