you are right to check but the provex single panel screen swings both ways (i am pretty sure) so no access cleaning probs assuming you have nothing in the way. calltomorrow to double check.

Thanks for all the replies. The choices so far seem to be:

Provex SS20 - which is a double panel where the outer panel swings - we can get that for £111 ex stock; or
Novellini Aurora 1 - a single panel which swings - which we can get for approx £176
Novellini Aurora 2 - a double panel where both panels swing - approx £246

As the room is small I wonder if a larger screen could be overpowering and we should get the single panel.
    Any thoughts?
  • I have a Novellini Aurora - a '3' I think, with two panels but a small one is fixed and the large one pivots. Miles better than the cheap single-panel Aqualux sold by B&Q and fitted by the previous owner.

A weakness of my old (cheap) single panel screen was that it was very difficult to stop water leaking through at the bottom corner due to poor design. The Novellini is fully silicone sealed at the corner. Plus it swings both ways, so after showering I can pivot the door in and the bottom of it can drip dry into the bath.
  • Thanks James H - there's an Aurora 3 at the showroom we're visiting tomorrow so we'll be able to take a looksee. Unfortunately because the bath has handles which slightly raise above edge, I don't think it's possible. Also as the room is so small, I think it may be too visually overwelming.
  • Hi linlin

Just wondered where you got the price for the provex shower screen from. I'm looking to buy the SS40 and the cheapest i've seen it is £179 including delivery.

    Hi Sam
The Provex was the last of it's kind and shoved to one side at a local merchants, so the price was an offer. If you tell me where you are, I'll let you know if you're in the area that could make it worthwhile, but it's not the SS40 you're looking for.
  • Thanks linlin, i'm looking at the ss40 as its wider dont but thanks for your help. :D

we have a small bathroom, but find that a fixed screen works best at keeping water in, so decided to go for a half screen with shower curtain attachment.

the cheapest one we found was at https://www.bathstore.com - its called the atlas shower curtain bath screen. works fanstic. is totally unobtrusive, and as the screen doesnt move, the seals stay intact.

i have never used anything to clean it, just give it a going over with a squeegy, and its stayed limescale and watermark free
