I've just had my hair done and mentioned to the hairdresser about someone at work recommending the new Pantene shampoo for coloured hair and she said its not good and just coates your hair. Does anyone find this to be true?

Was she trying to sell you something expensive in the same sentence? I bet she hasn't been out and read the ingredients of this new particular shampoo to be even to state what it did to your hair. The only time hairdressers tell me that is a) when they've asked me what I use and then b) try to sell me something that is hideously expensive for shampoo, makes no discernible difference and doesn't last forever like they suggest it does.
If you like it, use it. I've got a couple of products that I swear by, but I'm happy washing my hair with 'normal' shampooEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Hi thanks for your reply. No she never tries to sell me anything. I have bought products from the salon but off my own bat. However I don't know if there is really such a vast difference, the best shampoo I've used yet is Simple.0

Pantene is based on a silicone which coats your hair (making it shiny but unhealthy).
Head and shoulders is a harsh shampoo which strips your hair and can leave it dry and brittle.
Other shampoos tend to be somewhere between the 2.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -
Mine too ! But he does recommend the blue Herbal Essences range. He also sells expensive stuff in his salon so maybe there is something in the Pantene thing ? I also find Tresemme makes my hair very dry, it's a bit harsh.0

I was also going to say about the silicone.
If you have coloured hair, my hairdresser recommends L'Oreal Elvive (its in a red bottle or it was)Autism Mum Survival Kit: Duct tape, Polyfilla, WD40, Batteries (lots of),various chargers, vats of coffee, bacon & wine.
