I recently accepted an offer to upgrade to Internet Explorer 9 but since then I have been plagued with adverts popping up everywhere on my hotmail account, for example they flash up randomly on the left hand side of the screen and briefly obscure the folders list.
Is there some way I can stop these adverts popping up, please?

At the top, click on the little spanner symbol, and from the drop down menu, select 'toolbar options'.
Click on 'block pop up's'.
And don't use hotmail! Very vulnerable.0 -
Sorry Birkee I can't see a spanner, which page does it appear on please?0

Press f1. Type in block popups.0 -
Hammyman, when I press f1 I get 4 squares come up the first of which says Disconnect Projector and the others are similar so I think I must be doing something wrong?0

I am having the same problem, but the block popups is already ticked on mine. Only been the last couple of days too, had IE9 for a while before it started this nonsense.
Do you have to pay for adblock? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

The Free and Pro version includes the same features, but the free version is limited to blocking 200 adrequests per day. When installing the Free version there is a 30 day trial period, where the adblock limit is removed0 -

Yes...your function keys are not working as function keys but shortcut keys so you need to find the key on your keyboard that changes them back to function keys - usually has Fn on it.
You will then find that for whatever application is the foreground one - the active one - that pressing f1 brings up the help function and there you can type in your question and you'll get the answer.0
