  • haha these posts have made me laugh so much. I went round to visit my godchildren (triplet girls, 7 years old). There was a dictionary out on the couch and i asked what they'd been using the dictionary for. "Looking to see what words mean", one of them replied. So i starts flicking through the dictionary, asking "What does xxxx mean/ what is a xxxxxx etc".

Me: "Ok then, what is a peacock?",
    Triplet 1: "its a bird!"
Me: "Yep, but what's special about that bird" (digging for "it's tail")
Triplet 2: "It has a shop"
    Me: *puzzled*

It took a while for me to click but she meant 'Peacocks' as in the clothes shop!

Everytime the light hits my cats eyes at night my son tells me they have turned their headlights on. It amazes him, everytime the light catches their eyes. I suspose to a child it is so wonderful, especially when he calls them in at night and all you can see running down the path is two sets of eyes. Awwwwwwwwww bless.

Went with my dd to a sealife centre where somebody was taking about starfish and you were allowed to stroke them if you wanted. I'm a bit of a coward about creepy crawlies and things like that so I got my dd to touch it first. :naughty: I wanted to show her there was nothing to it :rotfl: so I decided to touch it too but asked her "What does a starfish feel like?" Her reply "A STARFISH!!" :D

In a similar vein... one day Granny had offered to have my dd overnight so I asked her where she was going to sleep that night, expecting her to reply Mummy's or Granny's. Her reply "IN BED!" :D

    10-yr old DD last week:

DD - "Oh you found my bracelet! It's to show I'm a virgin!"
US - "Er, um, well, I should hope so!"
DD - "Wait, I mean Virgo."

I witnessed this at my local playgroup...

2 children are fighting over a toy
1 of them wins and the other one bursts into tears.
Little boy nearby turns round and says:

"Calm down it's only a commercial!!!"
