Thanks for the posts. I know that most of you get your cash back.

So they're not a fraud then?

This happened to me, I had done a comparison search for motor insurance and I must have forgotten to clear my temp internet and cache files so lost out on morethan cashback.

Other than that I must say I have never had a problem with topcashback and many other transactions have gone through OK.

I think the OP should withdraw their accusations about one of the best cashback sites out there.

If you used a comparison site using your correct details they will get the commision sometimes even if you clear cookies

Always best to use a slightly different age and name and manually input your car not using the registration :j

Has anyone obtained cashback when using the merchant 'One stop phone shop'? I'm still waiting after a month and a half. No I didn't clear my cookies, but neither did I clear them with all the other merchants which have paid up via Topcashback.

Suppose it's a bit hit and miss. However, something which does annoy me are those insurance quotes which are always more than that indicated from the same company on a comparison site quote. This often negates the benefit of the cashback. Can they be held to the same price?

Sorry don't know about One Stop, but it really is important to clear the cookies....you have been lucky to be paid out on others with uncleared cookies. Often CB takes quite a while so don't give up hope yet!

Your second point about firms increasing the price via the CB site is a valid one. A few hotel firms do this as well. I don't think that there is much that we can do other than refusing to play and going elsewhere.

As martin says, if you get cashback think of it as a bonus, but don't buy
    purely because of the cashback.

Your best bet is to leave a non-libellous comment about Best Buy on the topcashback website, warning other people.

Looks to me that a cookie on your computer belonging to a 3rd party may have been credited rather than TCB.

To suggest TCB is a fraud when many thousands of people have no problems with them may be a little unfair. I have had no problems with them myself in 5 years even when there have been issues with been credited I just raise a ticket and a few months down the line get paid usually

I always make sure I clean or use a browser just for TCB usually like Opera, or Google browser

Also bare in mind cashback is NEVER guaranteed if only it was

I have been with TCB and haven't got any complaints about them at all. Of course there are sometimes small glitches but it is understandable when your are savvy shopper and shop for the best deal. another very good place is Quidco.com however they are charging £5 a year for their services, but yet again no problems.

Topcashback can't tell you who got the referral money as how would they know? you obviously had someone else's cookie (could even be Google etc) with a later date/time than TCB's so your issue is with the supplier not TCB, only the supplier could identify who's cookie they tracked. TCB cannot access the other referrers cookies to see who it was, fundamental internet security design!
  • These cashback sites really need to do more to overcome the 'set cookie' problem.
