Cancel Transaction Request.

Hi there.

I purchased a pair of earphones on ebay 2 weeks ago, Only 99p and free delivery.

They had not arrived so sent an email and Thursday to ask if they had been sent out.

I recieved a refund though paypal that day.

I logged into ebay today and had a Request to Cancel the Transaction.

The reason put is 'Buyer purchased in error' and in the coments he put 'item lost'

I was wondering if there is any limit in how many 'Buyer Purchased In Error' cancelations a buyer can agree to without being told off by ebay and put on the naughty step. I dont want to agree to it if its going to affect me.

Cheers.

No there is no limit because under DSR, you can send back anything you buy online for the rest of time.

Don't agree to the cancellation, as if you do you can't leave FB & the seller gets his fees back.

Without any contact or word from the seller I would decline the mutual.

If he hasn't got the manners to email you and tell you they're lost, decline, and mark down the comms and dispatch.
You can report him to ebay as a non performing seller as well.

Is the seller supposed to be psychic?

    Unbelievable...

Must be idiot week, and you're certainly coming through strong as the winner.

...says the bloke who thinks someone sending something without tracking should just "know" its not arrived....
Why on earth should a buyer agree he purchased them in error if a seller has lost them?
Put up your eBay user name so we know not to buy off a belligerent idiot will you.

If you look on the form when you go to "Resolve a problem" there is no entry for "item lost in post". The seller put "item lost" in the text box so its hardly like he's trying to blame the buyer. I can only assume you're Mr. Perfect and have never ever had a problem with anything you've sold and never ever seen the "Resolve a problem" page otherwise you'd know this.

Regardless of what he'd put for the reason for mutual cancellation, he would have got his fees back and neither party is penalised for any of those options from the drop down menu so it matters not one jot..

PS - still waiting for your Ebay ID so I can block you. I was NOT kidding.

Rest assured Hammy, as soon as you post yours up, we won't be buying from you, so come on, put your id where your mouth is.

Back to your original q. It's not going to affect you. I personally would accept. Buyer did well by refunding so quickly.

If the item were lost in the post then the seller should have got back to the buyer & said, (I'm sorry) this was posted on such and such a date 2nd class. He didn't, he refunded, that's good, although in actual fact the only thing he could do after 2 weeks.
Still no message to buyer & then the next day there was the cancellation request. I have taken the, item lost, as the seller has lost the item not that it is lost in post.
Maybe if he doesn't get a cancellation it will help to keep his brain sharp & to respond when a buyer asks when he posted something.

Well as Hammy is quick to assume it's lost in the post, how do we actually know that? Apart from his one track mind?
Could just be a really bad seller that actually lost it before posting it, and couldn't be bothered contacting the buyer until they noticed?
How do they know the buyer wants to cancel, and doesn't still need a replacement sent out?
