If they want thanks they should find a shop selling corn plasters at 25% off and giving Nectar points, and post details?0 -

But working for an energy company, you should know that, right?
Regardless of peoples preference of energy supplier, I'm pleased that at least over 250 people have read my post about how my employer sells gas and electricity. I imagine it is not the only energy company operating this way. Best advice, don't be sold over the phone, do your research in your area and find the best tariff for yourself and review it every year. Gimmicks like store points are generally worth about £2.50 per household a year. Don;t be sucked in, pay as little as you possibly can.
If you do switch, your company will offer you a better deal and their winback teams can give you unit rates lower than what are available on the market so play the game!0 -

Unfortunately I think you are preaching to the converted here.
We already know that the whole energy deal is a bigrip off and we, the consumers, are paying way over the odds to fuel the stupid games they play.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

If any call centre/doorstep sales staff, selling any product, are paid on a commission/bonus scheme, then you will get this situation.
The usual tactic with gas and electricity is to quote an unrealistically low monthly direct debit payment.0 -

Certainly Eon didn't want to chase the business when I told them I was leaving.
Think of the waste going on, the administrative costs on both sides of the switch, the commission payment and cashback costs through the switching sites. I would be surprised if it doesn't cost us £100/150 each time we switch:eek::mad::mad::mad::mad:"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Grizzly1911 - a piece in the press recently about using comp sites and they make an ave £60-65 commish per sale via their site, so the end provider will be recouping this cost somewhere from the customer.
thegift - you state nothing surprising taht door to door sales reps almost always rip the customer off - everyone knows this. Unfortunately those that give them access rarely have little option but to say yes due to the tactics employed. None of the power co's can take the moral high road on door to door sales cos they're all sharks!0 -

* I just noticed you would like people to click thanks if you find your posts useful.. I think you will excuse me if I don't bother on this occasion.
How rude

Even on this board we are usually savvy about these things, it is still useful to have comments from people on the 'other side'.0
