Unfortunately the skirting were to be painted white and the walls are dark! Wish I hadnt done any painting now!

Paint over the dark paint with the same white paint that you are going to/have already use(d) on the skirting?

As Lorian said hot water with a squirt of washing-up liquid will shift it, gentle rubbing with the green scrubby pan scourer thing will shift stubborn bits.

I got some 5 day old emulsion off a textured surface with a baby wipe the other day. If you have any around it's worth a try!

Hot water and a scraper or just sand it off.
