Waiting 5 days for the seller to post would put me off buying unless it was cheap and i did not need
it in a hurry.

Offer free postage and you cant get low stars for postage, Doesnt stop them leaving neutral or comments
on slow postage though.

Most buyers don't even look at the dispatch time. Also most people expect items quickly as that is what they are used to. So those like you who cant get to the PO get penalised. It may not be fair but that's the way it is. As others have suggested finish your listings just before you are able to attend the PO. Also when you send an item send the buyer a dispatch item also stating that you are sending within your listed times.

That only applies to P&P costs you can still get low stars for dispatch time which would be the OPs problem.

Unfortunately it is like the others have said in that buyers really don't read a sellers terms most of the time, they just judge what they feel is reasonable and when leaving stars they are asked for their own opinion. The stars don't ask 'was this item despatched in the time frame the seller stated' it merely asks the buyer to rate the seller for despatch times. 5 days is not going to get as high a rating as someone that post more quickly.

Stars are not so important though for a private seller unless they becoe disastrous. Stars though are extremely important for business sellers but then i imagine most business sellers would have somehting in place for a quicker despatch.
