i installed Cloud after the event0

Clearly 'clear cloud' didnt stop you getting infected like it claims
Id recommend uninstalling that (Use SANDBOXIE if you want to be safe browsing the web)
Follow the instructions as per post #10
It doesn't make any sense to disable Clearcloud just if it's missed something - he may as well disable his antivirus while he's at it...
ClearCloud is only as good as its blocklist. It blocks the majority of bad sites for me, and any that slip past have been blocked by HOSTS (MVPS & MalwareDomainList) or Malwarebytes.
HOSTS based blocks are only as good as their blocklist and how regularly they are manually updated by the user.
Sandboxie is only as good as what the user chooses to manually recover.
With a combination of all the above (and adblock/easylist/malwaredomain subscriptions) I've not seen any malware sites as they've all been blocked.0 -
I installed Cloud from a recommendation on here. Russ something I think he was called, it's just a DNS router.0

ah, that's him!0

Apologies Russ
Hadnt realised youd recommended it:idea:0 -
So it's ok then?0

Im not going against Russ's advice
I personally wonder if it slows the computer down, but id assume as a program in its own right its fine:idea:0 -

There's nothing resident unless people also install it via the utility (7500k memory) and don't disable the utility from autostarting under msconfig.
It's just an alternate DNS in place of the default ISP DNS. I usually warn people to test with youtube to see if it has any perceptible slowdown. Otherwise it'll just be a matter of milliseconds, since the DNS requests go to the clearcloud DNS server in London instead of the ISP's own server.0 -
I have found no real slowdown, thanks for the recco :T0
