Strange roadside Cameras

I can confirm they are traffic survey cameras, there is a company near to where I live that installs these and they also have van mounted ones as well.

As said they look at traffic flow nothing else wether it be pedestrians, cyclists or cars etc, councils etc then use the data provided from the company for such things like junction improvements and so on.
