HSBC Mortgage

I am the OP and recently went thtough this exact same thing with HSBC.

I was told by Mortgage manager that the credit check would indeed come back with approved, rejected or refer to underwriter. He also said all FTB with 90% go to the underwriters.

They double checked everything we told the MM and wanted to ask a few other outgoing/incoming monies related questions. All was approved and now waiting on survey.

As previously told though, depends on your own circumstances. one poster who commented in this thread, as you can see, got turned down due to one missed payment. Your history ok credit wise?

Our MM seemed pretty upbeat that we should be OK. We don't have any CCJ's or defaults, but I have a number of searches on my file and 1 late payment to orange in 2007. My partner has a couple of late payments from 2009 on his old mortgage which I'm more concerned about. He had just got divorced and his ex wife hadnt sorted a new mortgage quickly enough.

We earn £100k a year between us, have no debt apart from £2k on my credit card. The house we are hoping to buy is £273k and we have a 10% deposit.

I'm just on tenterhooks as the vendor was wanting a fast completion, and we don't want to lose the house.

Just an update - We got approved!!

It's been an agonising 10 days wait but so pleased its gone through now :j

There is hope with HSBC mortgages!

I just heard our house met valuation so all is good here too!
