victor chandler casino refuse to pay my winnings £78643

Options
I was playing online casino jacks or better with (Victor Chandler Casino) and my game froze, and did not let me collect the winnings. So I contacted the online support and got told they would report the problem to their IT team for them to have a look in the morning. They got the game unfrozen in the morning and paid me my winnings of £32. This kept happening as I kept playing and every time I reported the problem the same story will have the IT team have a look, and I got paid every time the next day amounts from £32 to £302 £640 and £1228 but the last time I played I won £78643 and the game froze again same as the last 4 times but they now don’t want to pay me as they are saying the game was faulty so they don’t have to pay under the terms & conditions me even though they paid me 4 times when the same problem occurred and they left a faulty game running for at least 23 days so a lots of people that played that game and lost money from the 2/03/2011 until 25/03/2011.

I told the casino to take the games off which was on the 25/03/2011 they have the right to have their money back. So you think but under their t & c they can keep your money and don t have to pay any winnings if a fault is found with the game.
Casino can’t have it both ways keep my winnings because the game is faulty and don’t pay out to the thousands of people that lost during that period. I did take my case to IBAS ( the Independent Betting Adjudication Service ) and they ruled in the casino favour. That does not mean that if I took the case to court I will lose. IBAS is only there to make sure that casino has not broke the T’s & C’s and if they have IBAS can rule in your favour but it does not mean the casino has to pay. If the casino does not pay all IBAS can do is just de-register the casino can’t make them by law to pay you. If this has happened to anyone else please email me as I have spoken with one of the major newspapers in UK and they want to run the story but they have told me they will need more than one person.

I have contacted the county court and was told by them i can take them to court if i want but as they are based in Gibraltar the court can’t serve them so i will have to serve them myself. I have even emailed the chairman direct but he never came back to me just blank me. I will like to go public with the story to warn other casino players and also to show how casinos treat their customers. When you win small amounts they pay you so you can go back and lose more money but when you win big they say is a fault with the game so we will not pay. I was never shown the evidence just was told an investigation will be taken and 4 days later i received an email saying a fault was found so we will not pay you and the casino considers the matter closed. They are even saying that i knew what i was doing and was taking advantage. How could I know that?

The Casino are saying the problem occurred during 11pm and 1am when the managers was sending emails and somehow it interfere with the game. I had no way of knowing that how could I. I was not playing only between 11pm and 1am I was playing during all different times all day and night and I did lose and won money but they are saying different. I feel i have been cheated out of £78643 by the biggest online casino in UK Victor Chandler which earns over £150 million a year ( I guess that’s how they make so much money )

    Good luck with your claim.

However, this thread has nothing to do with this board, which you will see does NOT relate to gambling. I am therefore moving it to the vent board......

Hate to be brutal but my take on it is that its either:

    A. an obvious malfunction (Which is a standard voiding of all plays and pays)
    B. You found a fault and exploited it (Which will result in voiding all plays and pays)
    C. Outright fraud

You dont turn £16 into £78000 by luck, simple as that.

I don't know where (dealer wins) got the £16 playing jacks or better 50 hands
all you have to do is guess the right card to double or the right suit to quadruple. you can reach £78k very quickly it depends how far you want to gamble. I am only going on the forums to warn other people of VC I have nothing to gain now my case is closed and I wont get paid.

Im sorry but as a gambler myself there is no way that you wouldve ammased that in one game and by doubling up through the gamble. Any sensible gambler would know the odds against them would get increasingly higher as you went on and most wouldve took around the 500 quid mark.

As has been said the T&Cs of most gambling sites state that should the game freeze or malfunction then it voids ALL winnings.

You got lucky to get refunded a coupl eof times but i think by then VC wouldve been onto you and the possible scam you were trying to pull. Dont worry though if you take it to court they will have a full log of what went on with your gambling patterns and what was used to try and cheat them.

You know you did so sorry but its a no go im afraid.

Do you usually quadruple up and up and up? If so, perhaps you can demonstrate that that is your usual play pattern and you got genuinely lucky! But if you usually cash in early then an abnormal play pattern suggests you knew what you were doing and my sympathies would be with them.

VC's software is very buggy. It crashes periodically. Many of us have horrible memories have playing their monthly blackjack bonus and getting an average of two hands in before the game glitched out and had to be reloaded. Citing obvious malfunction isn't much of a defense on their part because that is the natural state of the game. The software provider has had years to fix it. They've been winging it for years, and VC only chose that provider because they charge peanuts. For the same reasons, the guy isn't "exploiting" anything. He's trying to gamble-and frankly, VC should be incredibly grateful anybody gambles at all with what is easily the worst casino software ever created by a turnkey operation.

It seems to me that VC created an expectation in the player that he would paid according to the results displayed visually by the software, ie he was not informed that the software was reporting wins incorrectly if this is in fact the case. It is legitimate for him to claim money he has won legitimately. Effectively, they are simply welching on a bet. If a blackjack dealer in a real casino deals you a blackjack he can't claim to have "malfunctioned" and take your cash back.

And, yes, some people do win large sums of money in online casinos. It is a small % of the gambling population who have big wins, but if you have a million people playing then it is mathematically inevitable a few hundred or thousand will have that type of win.

    Hi al5000
Whatever has been said before, I appreciate you now know you won't get your winnings, and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I must admit that if I was playing and the game malfunctioned twice in succession, followed by emails to claim, i would not be risking my hard earned cash again - but that is only my own personal opinion and i understand your own frustration at the situation
I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.
  • I've just got here, through Paris, from the sunny southern shore;
I to Monte Carlo went, just to raise my winter's rent.
Dame Fortune smiled upon me as she'd never done before,
And I've now such lots of money, I'm a gent.
Yes, I've now such lots of money, I'm a gent.
As I walk along the Bois Boolong
    With an independent air
You can hear the girls declare
    "He must be a Millionaire."
You can hear them sigh and wish to die,
You can see them wink the other eye
At the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo.
I stay indoors till after lunch, and then my daily walk
To the great Triumphal Arch is one grand triumphal march,
Observed by each observer with the keenness of a hawk,
I'm a mass of money, linen, silk and starch -
I'm a mass of money, linen, silk and starch.
    Chorus
I patronised the tables at the Monte Carlo hell
    Till they hadn't got a sou for a Christian or a Jew;
So I quickly went to Paris for the charms of mad'moiselle,
Who's the loadstone of my heart - what can I do,
When with twenty tongues she swears that she'll be true?
    Chorus
