Luckily, where I live there are many of these 'cash for clothes' shops springing up. I take mine to a shop that pays 60p per kilo which isn't too bad. They are fairly selective but the last batch netted me around £20. Sendng stuff off is always a huge gamble - take for example Turn Into Cash Ltd which closed down. The company referred to by the OP sounds particularly dodgy.0

Interesting first post! You must be really impressed to go to the trouble of creating an account just to let people know this....;)
You are lucky then, I put in loads of my sons suits that he doesnt wear anymore all in good condition and a mixture of other clothes and filled the bag to the top, it was so heavy I had to drag it, even the pickup man had a struggle. then an email came through telling me I had earned £11.40. 21Kg of clothes , acceptable clothing weight19kg, unacceptable 2kg. All the clothes were wearable and clean. its a con.0 -
hi, clothes for cash is a hugh con, my bag was full to the brim and the pick up man had trouble lifting it. it was full of clean clothes all wearable and had a lot of my sons suits he doesnt wear anymore. he needs to look smart for work so buys suits often. it apparently weighed 21KG. acceptable clothing 19kg, unacceptable 2kg, wot a load of BS.0

Are you from the company by any chance? Seems odd.:D
once they have taken your clothes they pull the strings its all in their favour, they can say anything they like. They even want to charge you £20 to get your own clothes back.
Never let your clothes go without seeing the cash first.:footie:0 -
I think there are a few companies with simular names and have seen different reviews for them.
People seem to be having issues with clothes FOR cash, but there is another company called clothes 4 cash who also have a number of stores. Think I also saw a company called cash 4 clothes as well lol.
There are a number of these companies springing up and we are currentlt clearing out alot so will be using one. We have decided though to use on that has a centre/shop you can go to, at least then we can see the sort and weigh in and get cash straight away.
I think the answer is avoid any company that take the clothes away to weigh/work out payment and only use companies that weigh and pay there and then (either on the van at your house or in the shop/centre).
It's like the cash for gold and jewellery thing some places are good and pay a fair price some are just ripping you off. Everytime a new trend comes out some con man some where will try to use it to make cash for nothing.

PLEASE do not use clothes for cash! You are much better off selling your clothes on ebay.
I filled a whole sack with what was mostly NEW clothes. I received £7.80! They claim that the bag weighted HALF of what it really did (I know because I weighed it myself before they picked it up. Clothesforcash says that they weigh independently but yet they do not provide you a receipt nor does the "independent" third party picking your bag up). Further the company claimed my bag contained 1 kg of unacceptable clothes which is just not true as most of them in fact were new and the rest were second hand but in good condition (I would not send anything that was torn, dirty or in anyway unacceptable). They did not even have the decency to state what clothes were unacceptable (because they made it up I guess:mad:).
Please DO NOT use these scammers. The fact that you are reading this obviously shows that you done your research better than me :T.0 -
Thanks for the heads up regarding this company, I was going to use them after sorting out because of a house move but I would rather give to charity than line the pockets of unscrupulous conmen0

Wow glad I read this! Have ordered their welcome pack but will deffinately be avoiding now!
Thanks x0 -
Just received the welcome pack this morning and my instinct told me to do a little more research before sending in the clothes. Glad I came across this thread
. Does anyone know if they will now charge me for the sack they sent to me?
