You haven't yet found the hardest stuff available - 95% sulphuric acid.

Polish Spirytus Vodka at 96% ;o))))

96% Alcohol vodka is not the same as a solution containing 95% sulphuric acid. Not sure why you would try and compare the 2.

Steel baths are enamelled, porcelain toilets are not.

True. The glaze on a porcelain bog is glass hard and resistant to most chemicals.

I'd go with the One Shot drain cleaner... but be careful, it is very nasty stuff.

    It's only 91% sulphuric acid BTW ;)

Not necessarily so ! Like everything else - "you gets what you pays for!".

The quality of bathroom ware varies enormously. Cheap stuff has a poor quality thin glaze on it, clean it too aggressively and you start to remove the glaze. The ceramic underneath then stains - then you are stuffed.............

we did exactly the same thing! we too live in a very hard water area and our loo looked awful, no amount of chemicals would shift it, and in desperation got out a brillo pad and made it even worse.

it had taken the porcelain surface off and was a real mess, so we then tried to paint the area with porcelain paint, that was a disaster which made the affected area look even worse, if that's possible.

I am afraid in the end we replaced the whole toilet when we refurbished the bathroom.

I look after this new loo like a newborn baby! every week I scrub round with a limescale remover and leave over night to help with any build-up returning.

hope you can come up with something without having to replace it, but ours was beyond redemption after we had attempted to solve it, thinking that we couldn't make it any worse!

I reckon you've just scraped the surface with the wire wool, same as the marks you get in a teacup sometimes IYKWIM.

I think we can be reasonably certain that the post was a joke - you know 96% is obviously stronger than 95%. Yes? Oh never mind.

    Cheers.

    Cheers

Edit: Just seen the time of your post 3am on a Sunday morning which probably accounts for it. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
