e mail problems

Hi,
I have just got an apple mac, and I am having problems setting up my mail. I can now recieve mail, but not send it.

I have orange broadband - the instrucions on the orange website do not work - the smpt server is not being recognised.

After searching on the web, I see that lots of other people have had problems, but no solutions work for me so far.

I wonder if anybody else has found a solution to this problem - I don't feel like ringing the expensive orange helpline!

Don't know if that was a typo or it is your problem.

The outgoing settings should be smtp.orangehome.co.uk .

no that was typo - i did put in smtp.orangehome.co.uk but it didn't work.

its now working - I just deleted the mail account and set it up again with exactly the same infomation and it decided to work!
