Orange and data
Is there any facility to warn us automatically when we have nearly used our allowance data wise and what happens if exceed this limit, do we just get billed for what use. Or do we have to monitor it every now and again ourselves online account.
Is there any way to prevent large bills is what I am getting at.
How long would you guess 500mb would last, I like to surf this site for instance daily when away from home and down load music?
Any help from orange rep to teach me appreciated as I stayed with them, thanks.

There have to be some apps for smartphones, but don't expect to get very accurate figures. Is there any facility to warn us automatically when we have nearly used our allowance data wise
Yes. See your T&C: "Other charges - see the Price Guide for details. Usage above your inclusive allowance will be charged at the rates set out in the Price Guide – see orange.co.uk/paymonthlyguide."and what happens if exceed this limit, do we just get billed for what use.
You can do this, but surprisingly, for some plans information on data usage isn't available online: Keeping track of usageOr do we have to monitor it every now and again ourselves online account.
It's a decent limit for general browsing without downloading/streaming. Also, you can use WiFi at home and probably not only at home.Is there any way to prevent large bills is what I am getting at.

Confusing for me as the data was sold as unlimited to me

I have realised I would be at great risk of exceeding this limit every month and didnt sign up for feeling a nanny should be pearing over me whenever I used my phone, I had no concerns as was told unlimited.
The package does not feel right to me now.0 -
Cancel it.
I am pretty sure that the T&C have the clear limit in them and don't say anything about unlimited internet and Fair Usage Police (they used to say in the past).
If it was a phone/internet purchase you have at least 7 days cooling off period.
Otherwise quote misselling.0 -

The best way I find it a data monitor app.
For Android - 3G Watchdog
For iPhone - Data Usage (costs 59p but works pretty well)
The networks aren't bothered if you go over your limit as they will just charge you an extortionate amount per mb if you do
